“I am so glad I consulted with you. The chemotherapy I was receiving was causing me to lose weight. Through your diet I was able to put the much needed weight back on and keep my immune system strong. Even when I had trouble getting food down you were able to work out a way for me to get my much needed calories. I still avoid those foods you told me would weaken my immune system and I feel you really helped me during my treatments.
- Mildred Harnack,
Lyndhurst, NJ

“I have nothing but great things to say about The Banish! Program. I am 53 and have smoked since I was a teenager. I have tried to quit countless times. Cold turkey, patches, gum, zyban, you name it I tried it. All except hypnosis. I'm not even sure how I found out about your site, but I decided to sign up. Right after the session I felt different. Very little cravings and no cheating. I have been smoke free now for 5 months. This is a huge accomplishment for me. I have never been able to go more then a week or two without backsliding and returning to smoking. I am so delighted that your program worked. I have told several people about it and will continue to spread the word if anyone is trying to quit.”
–Edward Robinson,
Pequannock, NJ

“You're a hit. We received a lot of positive feedback regarding your programs. Your really provide a great service to the community. Thank you for the all the hard work in making our programs a success. We look forward to working with you again.”

“Your were the third nutritionist I saw in 7 years. I never had anyone spend as much time and ask me as many questions as you did. You are very thorough in what you do. My acne cleared up, my energy came back and I feel bad saying this, because everyone wants to lose weight, but I gained the weight I needed.”
-Mary Lou, Maywood, NJ

“The migraines I have had during my PMS week are much improved. Your advice worked.”
-Patricia Glasser,

-Alexis Varner, NJ

“You really helped me advance my career by helping me overcome my fear of public speaking.”
-Brian B. Lawyer, NJ

“I had out of control blood sugar and couldn't stop my cravings for bad foods. Dr. Robert gave me a realistic diet I could follow along with a few supplements to help my body. Now my blood sugar is perfect and my food cravings are gone. I also lost some weight.”

“My boyfriend went out and signed me up to see Dr. Robert, knowing how debilitating my depression had become. I was skeptical, because anything I’d ever tried in the past that promised relief never worked.

I was really surprised at what Dr. Robert told me. I had no idea the negative effects my habits were having. I couldn’t believe that in just one week I was feeling so much better!"

Hypnosis to Stop Smoking

Smokers who want to quit smoking have usually heard that hypnosis can be helpful, but they often feel strongly skeptical. Years of therapeutic experience with tobacco users trying to stop have given me insights into the doubts many of them feel, so I've written this article specifically to explain how hypnosis works to help a person quit smoking.

Before anything else, it's vital to understand that smoking is a true addiction -- and that it's both physical and psychological. Most people have heard about the addictive effects of nicotine on the body, but the mental side of it doesn't get as much media attention.

A confirmed smoker is living a life full of patterns that are linked to the act of lighting up and puffing on a cigarette. Smoking becomes an integral part of a whole range of daily activities -- mealtimes, drinking coffee or alcohol, talking with friends, even driving a car or getting up in the morning. Smokers develop an identification between themselves and cigarette smoking, so they see smoking as part of their personalities. If you're a smoker who wants to quit, understanding the power of the psychological craving for cigarettes is as important as accepting that they are chemically addictive.

The most important psychological aspect for most smokers is the use of tobacco as a way to cope with emotional pressures. You feel anxious or disturbed, you reach for a smoke as a "helper", to relieve your distress. But in fact it's more realistic to think of cigarettes as being like a lying friend who actually manipulates you and damages you.

There are far better methods for handling upsets and stresses, more effective techniques to help you feel calmer and better, that will allow you to stop smoking without turning to food as an alternative and gaining weight. This is where hypnosis for quitting smoking comes in.

Research into smoking has shown that the body stops physically craving nicotine very soon after it stops getting it -- a matter of only a few days after the person stops smoking. This demonstrates how important the mental component of cigarette addiction is -- smokers who try to quit cold turkey know that the desire to light up continues to torment them long after a few days have passed. The craving is psychological: the smoker has learned to need cigarette smoking in their lives.

Enter hypnosis, a proven tool for helping people un-learn and re-learn. The subconscious mental habits and mental associations that are largely responsible for the compulsion to keep smoking can be changed. And, as noted above, new ways to cope with stress and pressure can be learned through hypnosis. When the smoker who wants to quit begins by gaining these new insights and skills with hypnotherapy, they will usually find that the physical cravings of the initial days off tobacco are much easier to deal with. They will be taking on both the physical and psychological addiction simultaneously, and that's the road to quitting smoking for good.

With the help of a qualified hypnotherapist who understands the unique problems faced by smokers and can help you with an intelligent plan, you can learn new skills and build new attitudes about yourself and smoking. Hypnosis isn't a "magic bullet" for quitting smoking, but it is a very effective weapon against the addictive patterns. You, as someone who truly wants to stop and is willing to work at it, can use hypnosis to break, once and for all, the hold that smoking has gained over your life.
